In a world that looks like it came straight out of a Jules Vern novel, Last Exile is a fine example of Steam Punk stylizing. The story revolves around two orphains, Claus and Lavie, childhood friends who are now acting as Vanship couriers, piloting the floating tub that was once piloted by both thier now dead fathers. The story begins when the two young pilots rescue a little girl who is being persued relentlesly by a strange and star-shaped killing machine. Not willing to let the girl die, they become intrusted with the most high-risk mission a Vanship courier can recive. That mission is to diliver the little girl to the legendary mercenary ship Sylvana, only to become part of the crew as fighter pilots.
